Is WDS 8S worth paying more than 70-series?
If you're building your own private home, have panoramic windows, or an apartment with individual heating meter — yes, it's worth it. Savings on electricity bills will pay off the difference in 3-4 years. Plus, the third sealing circuit provides a completely different comfort level (no drafts).
What is the "third circuit" and why is it needed?
It's a rubber lip in the middle of the frame. Regular windows have two (outside and inside). The third circuit protects metal hardware from water (it doesn't rust) and creates an additional air chamber, improving thermal insulation.
What glass unit is best to install in this profile?
To unlock the 82 mm profile's potential, we recommend installing a double-glazed unit (3 panes) 44 mm thick with low-E coating and argon. Installing a regular "cold" package in such a frame is impractical.
Can this window handle heavy sashes?
Yes, the WDS 8S system is designed for heavy glass units. Thanks to closed reinforcement and strong profile walls, we manufacture large sashes without sagging risk.
